City Manager

Uskiewicz (U-skev-itch) was hired as Bessemer's new city manager. Mr. Uskiewicz comes to us with a long and broad range of municipal government experience. He has spent the past 20 years managing towns in Michigan, North Carolina, and Georgia, ranging in population from 1,200 to 14,000 citizens administering budgets between $1.5 and $35 million.

Throughout his career, Mr. Uskiewicz has enhanced communities by way of positive leadership and open, honest communications with all citizens. He has secured numerous grants and has been effective in maximizing limited city resources.

Mr. Uskiewicz is a U.S. Air Force veteran and a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Masters of Public Administration, where he also has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Michael also earned two professional certifications in public administration from the University of North Carolina.
